  • Decision-making: Salvage vs. removal

11:00 Workshop 1 | Removing Implants

  • Indications for implant removal

  • Step-by-step techniques for atraumatic removal

  • Removing implants near critical structures (sinus, nerves)

  • Hands-on practice using models, fixture removal kits, and piezo

13:30 Workshop 2 | Removing Broken Screws and Abutments

  • Causes of screw fracture

  • Techniques for retrieving broken screws and abutments

  • Hands-on practice removing broken screws with retrieval tools and methods:

  • Ultrasonic removal

  • Screw removal kits

  • Threading of screw channels

15:00 Afternoon Tea

15:30 Workshop 3 | Peri-Implantitis Management

  • Aetiology and classification of peri-implantitis

  • Non-surgical and surgical treatment approaches

  • Hands-on practice in decontamination techniques and regenerative strategies

  • Recognize and manage common implant complications

  • Gain hands-on experience in implant and abutment removal techniques

  • Master advanced techniques for the removal of broken screws, abutments, and cold-welded abutments

A/Prof Christopher Ho

Prosthodontist

A/Prof Christopher Ho is a Specialist Prosthodontist who received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. He completed postgraduate studies in the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Implants at the University of Sydney, and a Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics with Distinction from the University of London. Furthermore he completed a Doctor in Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Sydney and is Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is Special Field Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

A/Prof Ho lectures extensively on aesthetic and implant dentistry both nationally and internationally. He contributes to the postgraduate Oral Implant Diploma and Prosthodontic programs at the University of Sydney. He is a Faculty member of the Global Institute for Dental Education, Academy of Dental Excellence and is Visiting Lecturer at Kings College London, United Kingdom. He is author of numerous publications, as well as editor of the Wiley-Blackwell textbook “Practical Procedures in Aesthetic Dentistry” and the upcoming “Practical Procedures in Implant Dentistry”.
